Andrews University

Founded more than 130 years ago, Andrews University is the flagship university of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. As a Christian university, strong emphasis is placed on serious scholarship, quality research and practical Christianity. Hong Kong Adventist College is one of the 18 affiliated and extension programs, with over 3,000 students and 280 faculty worldwide.

The Program

The Division of Psychology aims to integrate faith, knowledge, and health in training professionals in psychology. We provide a culturally diverse community that parallels the growing of diversity in the healthcare and academic professions. Students will leave this program with habits of lifelong learning and a dedication to serve society through teaching, researching, and counseling with competence, compassion, and commitment.

Upon completion of this program, students may consider

• Pursuing further study in Post-graduate studies in different fields of psychology
• Joining the workforce of human-related service, such as teaching, social service or business

Duration
The B.S in Psychology is normally a four-year program. However, students with Associate Degree in related fields or equivalent qualification may take 2 to 3 years

Entry Requirements : F or admission, a student must attain one of the following requirements:

• Completion of secondary school studies

-Grade 12: or equivalent with an overall GPA of 2.25 from an accredited /registered secondary school -Form 6: Successful completion of Form 6 (including passes in English and Chinese Language)

• Hong Kong Adventist College Foundation Program : overall GPA of 2.50 and passing all classes

• HKALE : Obtain “E” in one HKALE AL subject or “E” in two HKALE AS subjects (including passes in English and Chinese Language)

• HKCEE : Obtain minimum 18 points in HKCEE and Level 4 in English Language and Level 2 in Chinese Language

• Associate Degree : Associate Degree or higher qualification from an accredited educational agency recognized by the local government in the applicant’s country
• Mature Student : Applicants (over 23 of age by 1 September of the year of admission), who do not meet any of the above requirements will be reviewed for provisional admission on an individual basis

Tuition Fee

$36,000 per year

Early-bird scholarships of $8,000 available to students who apply before February 28 th, 2010.
